Appearance: Fujitaka can present a very commanding appearance. He's tall, with very broad, straight shoulders and impeccable posture. He wears his sandy brown hair well kempt, with bangs parted over his left eye and swept towards either side of his long, narrow face. Fujitaka wears small, thin-framed glasses. The man is almost always smiling, but when he's angry, he's barely recognizeable. He commonly wears suits in toned down, earthy colors. He looks much younger than he is. Personality: Fujitaka is a very personable kind of man. He's ceaselessly cheerful and an amazing father-figure, not just to his own children, but to his students as well. He's well-liked and easy to get along with. He cooks, cleans, and never seems to complain. He's respectful and level-headed, never getting angry. However, to say that this is the only side of Kinomoto Fujitaka--...well. There's another side, one that doesn't often manifest. Not anymore. Once, Fujitaka was cold, calculating and ruthless. This was all out of necessity. During the War, he was an entirely different person. It was the way he so easily lost himself to the bloodlust of battle that earned Fujitaka the label of war hero. And it was the seperation into an entirely different person that allows him to be the person he normally is today. Abilities/Strengths: Fujitaka has a particular ability to remember names and faces. He's very easy to get along with. Another ability he has (which he rarely displays), is his prowess in warfare. Hand-to-hand combat and semi-automatic guns are what he's especially good with. Weaknesses: It seems as if Fujitaka is flawless, even to those who know him fairly well. But his enemies know his achilles' heel--his family, and his unfailing habit to be illogical when they are threatened. Aside from that, Fujitaka's personality is very black-and-white. He's either kind and cheerful, or unfeeling and ruthless. He's incapable of expressing much in the way of true or complicated emotion, and almost equally incapable of dealing with it. Notable Possessions: Fujitaka wears a wedding ring, despite having lost his wife to a viral epidemic four years ago. | |||
Kinomoto Fujitaka doesn't remember much of his teenage life, and even less before that. In his opinion, his life truly began in his first year of teaching; at a highschool in his hometown when he was 23. As he walked across the campus, he noticed two girls. One was on the ground, yelling at the other--the most beautiful young woman Fujitaka had ever seen. The girl was precariously perched on an unstable looking tree limb. The new teacher made it in time to let the beautiful girl land on top of him after falling out of the tree. He smiled at her and simply said, "I thought an angel fell from the sky." The girl turned out to be 16-year-old Amemiya Nadeshiko. And within a few months, she would become a Kinomoto--Fujitaka's wife. They would come to school together. Shortly after Nadeshiko graduated, she gave birth to their first child, the boy Touya. The three were a perfect family for six years, then they became even happier when Nadeshiko gave birth to the girl Sakura. The picturesque family life lasted five more years, until war was suddenly and unceremoniously thrust upon the Kinomoto family. Fujitaka was called away to fight in the war. Nadeshiko joined the Daidouji Corporation as a scientist to keep up her two children. Touya disappeared at age 13, two years into the war. And at age 8, Sakura was taught to hold and shoot a gun. The world was a cold and brutal place, shocking the Kinomotos out of their secure niche in society. Touya reappeared four years into the war--on the media as a hero. He defied Fujitaka's orders to go back home, and instead joined him in battle abroad. Nadeshiko rose to join the Daidouji corporation's lead circle of scientists. Without meaning to, they became the most influential family in Japan. A year before the war ended, Nadeshiko became ill and passed away. Fujitaka was called away at the same time to serve in another tour in the war, leaving him with no time to deal with his wife's death, nor comfort his children. When he returned home in what people were calling the post-Apocalypse, Touya and Sakura were functioning well on their own, which soothed a lot of Fujitaka's worries. He slowly settled back into civilian life, though like so many of his companions, he was still haunted by nightmares, and was never too far from his gun. He returned to teaching, this time at Towa University. He and Touya began to realize that Nadeshiko's death had been no accident. They looked into the Daidouji corporation, and uncovered a huge scandal--the lead scientists had created a virus capable of causing an epidemic, and they were slowly releasing it among the world's population, in order to sell the antidote and take control. Three years after the war was over, Fujitaka was preparing a speech to present to the masses, uncovering the scandal with the Daidouji corporation. A bullet shattered his window, catching him in the shoulder. Somehow managing to ignore the wound, Fujitaka wen for his gun to defend his children. He would never reach it.
